The Minister of Transport and Aviation Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay has signed performance contracts with heads of various parastatal at his George Street Office.
Addressing senior officials the Minister said that, the signing ceremony was a follow up action to the Presidential retreat held at Bumbuna last year, where government ministers expressed their commitments to service delivery to the people of this nation.
Mr Sesay stated that, the performance contract is to ensure service delivery in every parastatal of his ministry and as heads in their various departments, he maintained that they should ensure that every portion of the contract trickles down to every staff member.
The transport and aviation minister pointed out that, the one year performance contract which ends in January 2009 will be reviewed and evaluated quarterly to ensure efficiency.
The minister said he was aware of the fact that every parastatal has its own specific targets and goals, and this has to be done in accordance with the terms of their contractual arrangement.
Mr Sesay intimated that, his ministry is open at all times for discussing the challenges and how best to overcome the hurdles.
He admonished them to work as members of the same family in order to improve the image of the ministry.
