Vice President Sam Sumana will today 5th October be presented with a first draft of the consolidated report outlining the current state of government institutions with detailed policy, programs and resources from the 60 member Presidential Transition Team.
The report will also outline an inventory of assets, liabilities, measures and actions awaiting implementation and will also make recommendations on possible directions and follow –up actions.
The report is also expected to include information from permanent secretaries, director generals, professional heads, donors, development partners and other stakeholders and also detail meetings with boards of directors, steering committees and supervising authorities.
Talking with the Vice Chair of the team Haja Afsatu Kabba she said that, the objectives of the team was to work with the outgoing Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) government to ensure a smooth transition.
She said that the 60 member team will also assess the current state of government institutions in terms of policy, programs and resources; take stock of the present situation in the machinery of government including assets, liabilities, measures and actions awaiting implementation.
The Vice Chair maintained that the presidential team will compile relevant data on all ongoing projects, and policy outstanding, all payments outstanding, all contracts being executed or awaiting execution, all legislations awaiting enactment etc.
