Tom Nyuma, the former National Provisional Council (NPRC) Secretary of State East has said that he was impressed with the level of democracy in the country.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Awoko he said he appreciates the democratic dispensation as the level of it practiced was good for the country and which is one reason that has spurred him on to contest for the chairmanship of the Kailahun district council in the forth coming local council elections.
Mr Nyuma said that Kailahun district was still left behind attributing it to the lack of leadership and he said with his potential, ability, courage and wisdom he shall steer the district so that the resources will be managed properly for all.
He pointed out that he was rejuvenating his political career at the local council level as he said what he gained in the military was very little as he now has the opportunity to interact with the people at grassroots level.
Mr Nyuma said his days as Secretary of State East were different from the democratic dispensation he was running for, which he termed as the best way to be given the mandate to serve the people.
He said after he had made a tour through the district he was convinced that he was going to defeat his opponents.
