Arguably the country’s fastest-growing mobile network, Tigo this weekend will sweepstake (raffle) its Le 20 million star prize of its ongoing lottery promotion.
According to the company’s media coordinator, Jariatu Bah during the grand draw on Saturday 17th May two qualified Tigo subscribers will bag Le 2 million each, and one super lucky one will carry home Le 20 million cash.
Over the weekend at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting (SLBS) studio, a Le 3 million presentation was made to three subscribers who won three weeks ago.
Receiving his cheque, Dennis Roy-Macaulay, a pupil of the Sierra Leone Grammar School said he was a subscriber to another mobile phone network but was advised by his mother to change to Tigo which he did.
He said no sooner had he replaced his SIM card with Tigo than he received an SMS message about the raffle draw.
“Since then I’ve been playing and monitoring it until last week when I saw my mobile number on TV. At first, I thought it was a joke but was convinced when I received a call from Tigo informing me that I’d won Le I million cash. I’m so grateful,” he said with a blush.
The other recipients of the one million Leones cash prize were Ernest Tommy and Umaru Barrie.
After the presentation and exchange of pleasantries between Tigo staff and the winners, another draw was made for this week’s winners who turned out to be George Jusu, Samford Davies and Lucrecia O Thomas.
