The National Sports Council has done a marvelous work to ensure that our darling National Team, Leone Stars takes part in the their last group match against Super Eagles in Nigeria
This is the first time in the history of Sierra Leone football that the National Team went for international competition and they were able to return back with about over five thousand dollars and the bonus of twenty-one thousand dollars for the players if they had won, was also returned back to government
According to the Director of Sports Bai Kabia this is the first match in which he was in charge and that he has tried to prove that he means business.
During the preparations for the match after receiving the budget from the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), he handed all the money to the Deputy Director, Alphan Coker who was the Leader of the delegation
The Deputy did a superb work to ensure that all claims made by players are forwarded with supporting documents.
This a clear manifestation that those who were in charge of Leone Starts matches over the past years were not doing justice to the nation, as they were depriving the nation for their own benefit.
“Some of these people need to explain how these monies were spent, as this is the problem between SLFA and Sports council, since SLFA does not want to give account”, the Director said.
