The Chairman for the Central One Football Association(COFA) Sammah Sesay disclosed to Awoko that this year’s inter-area football competition is going to be the best so far organized by the association.
That is why as an association they are doing everything possible to make sure that they start the preparation earlier as this year’s league is expected to start a week after the world cup ends in South Africa.
Sammah stated that last year’s competition was a success because most of the area teams that participated in the competition were able to behave themselves in a friendly atmosphere.
He also mentioned that most of the area teams that failed to make it last year are expected to actively involve in this year’s competition.
He disclosed that they intend to cut down the number of teams to 20 and that is the reason why they are meeting come Saturday to discuss relevant issues pertaining to the running of the league.
Sammah stated that over the years sponsorship has been a serious problem for the association, because at the end of the day they have to give several prizes to different winners in the competition.
He also mentioned that after the inter-area football competition, the next league will be the non division league where in most cases many talented players will be discovered.
