The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, (SLFA) Nahim Khadi has disclosed to football stakeholders that the football Association has got a Third Goal project which has been approved by FIFA.
He stated that the football executive has agreed to offer the people of Kono District the project which will be the third artificial turf goal project in the country.
The FA President also said they decided to take the artificial turf goal project to Kono District as both the Western Area and the Northern region have all benefited from it.
Nahim Kadi further revealed that the goal projects contracts are not awarded by the Football Association but by the football governing body, FIFA.
President Kadi said contrary to rumors that SLFA has been awarding these contracts “ I want to clearly say these goal projects contracts were directly awarded by FIFA”
He went further to revealed to the stakeholders that football can only succeed as a family if we put together our synergy for football to succeed in this country.
And football development does not start and end with the Sierra Leone Football Association and its executive, but the media as well.
He also used the opportunity to assure the newly appointed Minister of Youth Education and Sports, Paul Kamara that his Association is ready to work with his administration towards achieving his goal.
He also said: “I want to assure the new Minister that SLFA is ready to work with him to help him leave his footprints on the sands of time and with his cooperation, football can thrive once again in the country.”
