The Leone Stars team manager Ahmed Sesay at the post match press conference maintained that there is light in the tunnel for the national team after they were able to clinch their first three vital points in the competition.
He said with these three vital points received so far they can now say to the boys to settle down as a lot of new crop of players are back with the old players and they can now turn things around in the competition.
He gave credit to the Bafana Bafana side which he said have a very good team but “we are now focusing on our next match in South Africa.” Team manager Sesay disclosed that before the match on Saturday they had a fantastic reunion which brought all the players together – they are now one family and that is why they can now play as a team.
Coach Kanu in his own contribution said for this particular time the victory is a convincing one for his boys as the victory can also motivate the team.
When asked if Leone Stars can make it in South Africa in the World Cup and the Africa Nation cup in Angola he said this is just the start for now “when going to South Africa we will also make sure that we have a good result so that we can take it from that point.”
He stated that in their last two matches they played very well, although they lost one, “but this time around it is a different situation we played and we won the match though in the last ten minutes we were under serious pressure but we tried to absorb the pressure.”
