The deputy director of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Solidarity, Pamela Vipond who was in Freetown for a four-day working visit, disclosed to Awoko Sports that her visit was a success.
She said she was impressed with the structure of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of which she was briefed on its operations.
Pamela Vipond stated that, “the NOC can put activities in place while the Olympic Solidarity can assist in getting such proposals into actuality”.
She mentioned that the NOC should develop sports in Sierra Leone, and that the International Olympic Committee was ready to assist in this line.
She said during her visit she had fruitful discussions with the executive of the NOC and also held talks with female representative, Pamela Williams, about the development of female sports and to see the role they could play in the Solidarity.
