This Guy was really eloquent and analytical speaking on radio about reasons for people’s behavior. At one go he gave a tint of heredity at other times on the environmental factors. He compared humans to animals. People who are not fully formed behave with animalistic instincts. Also he says heredity plays some major role. This may be confirms the idea of the child is father of the man. What I do not understand about this life we try to live is why people should suffer for things they have or had no control over. T5his is where I like the American outlook. There individual achievement is recognized… otherwise President Obama would never have taken the position of perhaps the most important man in the world.
President Obama’s rise is perhaps humanity’s greatest breakthrough for racial harmony. Indeed America will always remain a great nation…this already looks like an established fact. The only nation where perhaps people actually live the life they hope to live is there. It is the nation that you can find every other nation in the world and people still clamor to go to. Have you ever asked yourself why? But tell me has anybody ever lived the life they want to live? What’s all about this force to achieve, acquire, and accumulate wealth and all that? You say life is tough but how many people will opt for death? Life is funny eh… Have you heard about the guy who was going to drown himself? He came across this other guy who had no clothes on. The drowning guy was asked to give the other his shirt. Then Mr. Drown realized there is someone who is more deprived than him. He then abandoned his mission to drown.
We are told that if you react harshly to things then you are exhibiting the animalistic tendencies and perhaps the shows you are a less formed human being. What needs to ascertain is whether we as humans can really escape the animalistic behaviors…aren’t we animals anyway…physically do we have anything that they do not have? If Animals were not denied mature brain and speech, do you think we would be going round being the most wicked creation? Are you really living the life you want to live?
There was a chief who wanted to die because he was not happy with the wife’s behavior. He called his wife one day and said…I am going to die today ( he was not really ill ).I married you. My colleagues come to me and we move around together. We go to my friends houses and we eat very delicious food. The cause of my death is that you do not know how to cook. I feel ashamed when my friends come to my house and we eat my food. Apart from that you fell in love with all my friends. You also do not know how to talk to me in public. The wife replied…my husband please do not die. The husband
again said ‘If I do not die will you change the three bad characters you have?’ “Yes I will. It is all in my blood, which one do you actually want me to leave that will satisfy you?’ The chief identified promiscuity.
The point here is there is hardly any person who has an unblemished character…the difference is that some people are more able to contain their frailties than others. The story was told by a chief in one of the host communities of Refugees. It was learned that people were using the bush to make love. Well you might call it animalistic…but do you know that sexual urge is one natural instinct that is hard to overcome? Life is very unfair, isn’t it. I think I read somewhere that sex is like money, if you don’t have it you think of nothing else and when you have it , you think of other things. I think these close colleague is hungry…I really hate and fear hunger…for me hunger reminds me of many other negativisms. The world is now flowing with so many people going against the norms of societies. Gay and lesbian marriages are becoming rife and acceptable in many countries today. I wonder what the Boko Haram of Nigeria will say about these. Life is strange now human rights are interested in how their leader Mohamed Yusuf died or can I say was killed? This must be a mad world…this one we live in and whether you like it or not you must taste a little bit of this madness.
Many a time much of our problems, whether in governance, development or what have you, are blamed on poverty. Yes of course there is so much truth in this. But I think Angelic Kidjo thinks we should not use our poverty as an excuse to allow others to manipulate you. Many many people have fallen into this trap and have actually lost themselves…they are mere zombies that play in the hands of their manipulators. At one stage or another every body gets to that point. What makes the difference is having the courage to say no and move on with your head high up. The truth is that no one ever really realizes his or her goals in life. Some fight very hard but never live the life they love. Scores of others do not even like the life they live no matter how comfortable it is. Some eat their dinner well ahead during breakfast time and when dinner time comes there is nothing to eat. Nature is Funny isn’t it? In some parts of the Western world people die of obesity and in parts of Africa children die of malnutrition. Even today some people get their meals from the bomeh garbage, stuff others had thrown away and had even gone bad.
When I listen to prayers offered these days in many churches so much attention is paid to Satan that the person being prayed for is even forgotten. Why do we always blame everything…sometimes their wicked actions actually inadvertently create better avenues for us. Enemy actions are not always negative in its outcome. I once came across this piece of writing which went…’ Not everybody who throws shit on you is an enemy…and not every body that removes you from shit is a friend. One has to keep an open mind on things in li8fe otherwise you remain a very unhappy person. Your mind has to remain open like a parachute as only then it functions properly. You can say because you have worked as a Sea Man you have to keep walking in a very wavy manner… how about a father of thirty children. You are wondering how he will walk. But please keep wondering because I don’t have the answer. You know full well that there are more questions than answers, and even the most stupid person can ask questions that the most brilliant cannot answer. That is why attending interviews is not one of things people like doing.
All our lives we keep striving for higher heights…some get there and then realize that height may not solve there problems, then they start again, not happy about themselves So what is really this good life that people keep talking about? Are not actually living on different standards? A poor illiterate guy tucked way in Mongo Bendugu or in Moimandu Yawei Kotaaya may not need a video player in his location if there is no power to get it going. So you see how the needs vary according to location. While the Freetown man hardly eats fresh fruits and vegetables whilst the guys in koinadugu and Kailahun Districts are tiered of eating fresh fruits and a lot of goat and cow meat. Do you really think you will live the life you want? What is happiness for you ? Is it getting what you want or rather wanting what you have got. Most times you never cherish what you have even when there are others who envy you for what you have?. The population of the big cities grow by the day as many young people think their dreams could be fulfilled there. Indeed things turn sour there but then they are stuck. They can’t cope with the rigors of rural life never mind they say there is dignity in labor. Others will say the end justifies the means. When I move around and see all those beautiful kids playing and laughing happily, I try to figure out how much more will their parents hold out in continuing to support them especially right through school
Some of them are more or less tied up to their villages…that are their own one and only world. They were born there, they live there and t6hey will die there as the Liberians used to say until the rebel war forced them to flee to other countries. Whether we like it or not life has to move on. This why at the height of the civil rights movement in America the legendary martin Luther king said that people have to use every means just so as to keep moving, whether they fly, walk, or crawl it really did not matter. Everyone has something to give to society. Surely you cannot use the excuse of poverty to allow others to manipulate u. you cant stand idly by and helplessly beckons to people and say just keep on using me. Nor make dem take u yai sleep or wass you face go up. Now-a days even people who have pretend not to have and do not hesitate to eat from the little that poor people have. They arte the big ones that turn around and tell youths Bra you bobor dae oh! Its like taunting poor people.
Have you ever seen peopled buried up the sky even though they manifest a revolting vulgar display of wealth while alive? You must be joking; we are mere food for worms.
Worms that we spite, worms that we do not want to see…yes they are nasty enough to anger us. Will you ever live the life you want to live? Who do you think people with wealth also want power so that they can command command and control? That is just the way of the world. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it. If you think you can make sure you don’t eat or sleep, then we will tell you how much your coffin cost but you will never get any one to buy it. You have this interesting custom when people die they say Mek God Gi am good road. Well if they had wished that for the deceased I am sure he could perhaps refused to die. Why is it that we honor the horizontal man more than the horizontal one. Roy says tell me what you stand for and I will tell you what you lie down for. People attend funerals of people just so as they are seen so that when they die their funeral could be grand. Who actually cares for a grand funeral when the man die wreched?
One good thing is that no one lives this world alive. Even if you know the ex-boyfriend of you ex-boyfriend’s ex-girl friend you will have to die first. When people are younger they wish they were older, but as they grow older, they wish they were younger. That is why old people live on remembrance and young people on hope. Take hope from the youth and your country is doomed. You better avoid youth disillusionment…
