Tengbeh Town Market, also known as Kongosa, has been upgraded to a full community market. The market is now paved, and has a water tank and mobile toilet.
Councillor Alhassan Kalokoh of Ward 439 said women living in the area had suffered for lack of a proper market.
The Councillor explained that realising the problem, he decided to write to the Mayor of Freetown City Council, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, and some businesses in Tengbeh Town, from whom they were able to raise Le 15 million to upgrade the market.
Hon Saidu Conteh of Constituency 129 said now that the market has been upgraded it would no longer be called Kongosa Market, but Tengbeh Town Community Market.
