Teachers desert primary schools in Bo City

Councilor Wurie Jalloh of Ward 231 in the Bo Constituency and also Chairman Education Committee Bo City Council has told Awoko that teachers are deserting their schools seeking greener pastures.
The issue affects all the 147 primary schools in the City. This he said has created serious shortage of teachers in most of the Primary schools in the City. Councilor Wurie Jalloh said the teachers are the ones who have gone without salaries for years thus leaving them with no option but to leave.
Most of the schools in the City he explained were built if not within the colonial era or immediately after and they are now old and need serious rehabilitation to make them fit for accommodation.
