The Search for Common Ground/Talking Drum Studio (SFCG/TDS) has launched its election sitcom.
The first episode situation comedy, which will start screening today, is a-ten episode soap designed to sensitize Sierra Leoneans on the upcoming elections.
TDS’ Public Information and Campaign Coordinator (PICC), Abdul Rahman Rashid, says the television series will bring up pertinent election issues to the public, which will be mostly sensitization stuff so that on polling day everybody will be aware of their responsibilities, how to vote and also address post-elections issues.
He notes that for this SITCOM project, TDS has been getting supports from DFID and Irish Aid.
Mr Rashid states that TDS has been partnering with the independent media to send out peace messages.
He points out that conflict resolution is one of TDS’ core responsibilities and that this SITCOM, which will be focusing on Women and Youth in the election process, is geared towards that responsibility.
