Alhassan Barrie who is a taxi driver residing at No.10 Claris street yesterday explained before Magistrate Shyllon of court No. 3 how he was molested at Congo cross bridge by one Mohamed.
He said on Tuesday 27th January as he was driving along Aberdeen, the accused stopped him around the filling station and told him (driver) that he was going around Lodge area by King Harman road as he was having Le1,000. The complainant said he told the accused that he did not have change but he will find change when he arrives at Lodge.
According to him as he was going along Congo cross bridge, the accused said he wanted to come down and he told him that he had not got any change, but the accused insisted that he was coming down and it was then they started arguing until a passerby offered a change.
He further explained that as he was entering his car, the accused started to abuse him and said he was going to ‘treat’ him.
The defendant told the court that the accused went round to where he was seated and slapped and dragged him out of his taxi.
“I heard someone saying let us call the police and I saw the accused telephoning some one. As I was going to secure my car I met the accused inside my taxi seated on the drivers sit and when I told him to come down he refused”
He explained that he avoided the accused but the accused together with some people rushed at him; hit him on his nose with others kicking him.
He said he became unconscious because of the blood oozing out of his nose.
