Tigo subscribers can now share their airtime with each other with its newly launched Value Added Service (VAS) ‘Take and Talk’ balance transfer.
The Assistant Marketing Manager – Nadia Williams yesterday officially launched this Short Message System (SMS) based product which allows swift transfer of airtime from one subscriber’s account to another.
Ms Williams explained that with the take and talk “you can transfer credit as low as Le 1,000 and as high as Le 25,000 to any Tigo line.”
Illustrating how to do the airtime transfer, she said, “all you need to do is to type * 213* 23230 plus the phone number * the amount # then press the send key on your phone.
She explained that only Tigo subscribers are eligible for this service, adding that only prepaid numbers can send and receive balance transfer.
Ms Williams also disclosed that staff numbers are barred from originating or initiating balance transfers transactions but can receive balance transfers from other numbers.
“All post-paid subscribers – individual and corporate – can transfer balance to other numbers but not receive transfer except from the E-PIN platform which is being used to top-up their accounts,” she explained.
Ms Williams also noted that all Close User Group (CUG) lines can send and receive balance from all transactions.
The Assistant Marketing Manager explained that notwithstanding service eligibility it has its limitations and these are: firstly- a subscriber without any balance cannot access the services; secondly- a subscriber can effect a maximum of 10 successful balance transfers to other subscribers in a day and finally – a subscriber can receive an unlimited number of transfers in a day.
Media Coordinator Jariatu Bah in her opening statement stated that this is another innovation adding to Tigo’s numerous value added services. She disclosed that the transfer is free of charge.
