Magistrate Joseph Amadu has committed to the next session of the Port Loko high court, the case of the second accused in the Tagrin murder case, Idrissa Conteh.
On the conclusion of the preliminary investigations at the Lungi Magistrate Court last week, the magistrate discharged Koryoh Koroma, who is the first accused and wife of the deceased.
In his ruling, the Magistrate said that of the five witnesses there was no evidence linking the first accused to the fighting that resulted in the death of the deceased, but that there was sufficient evidence against the second accused for trial at the High court.
He said testimonies of the witnesses were consistent with the statement of the second accused, who even had told the court that he beat up the deceased until he begged for mercy.
The deceased was alleged to have been beaten up by his wife and brother-in-law after the late husband quarreled with his wife over some money matter, which degenerated into a fight that attracted the second accused.
