The executive of the Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association (SLTA) has taken the sports to various schools in Freetown.
According to the president of the association, Oness Johnson, they have decided to take the sport to the schools so that children will know about it, “which is very good”.
He said since they started taking the sport to the schools, it has now become popular within the schools and most of the children have now grown interest, adding that “as an association coaches will be visiting such schools to train them”.
He revealed that with the help of the Women in Sports Commission President Pamela Williams, they were able to take the sport to Annie Walsh, where students are cooperating, as displayed during their past training at the school.
He stated that as an executive they are determined to take the sport not only to schools in Freetown but also in the provinces.
