Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone (SWASAL) are expected to go to the pools in two months after an extension of the Interim Executive’s mandate.
The decision for the extension of their mandate came after they called for more time to complete their assignment in conducting election for a new executive and membership approval.
At a recent meeting, the interim Secretary General of SWASAL, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay explained to the house that they were not able to hold elections within their 100 days mandate because the members failed to comply with the rules and regulations.
He went further to appeal to the new members to produce their supporting documents before they can be approved as full members of SWASAL. He cautioned that failure to produce such documents before the 20th of May will lead to loss of voting rights.
The Interim Secretary General Sorie Ibrahim Sesay assured the house that within the two months extension, they will do everything possible to make sure that election is held and a new executive is put in place.
