The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has organized a friendly match between their National team Super Eagles against Leone Stars.
The match has been slated for the 9th of this month which is an international friendly date for FIFA. On the same day Leone Star’s opponent Niger will face Morocco as both teams are also preparing for their next encounter in March for the African Nations Cup qualification. An invitation letter sent to SLFA stated that the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has agreed to be responsible for the air tickets and the internal transportation for the entire delegation.
The Nigeria Football Association has also agreed to pay an appearance fee of fifty thousand United States Dollars for the friendly match and the Sierra Leone delegation should comprise of 18 players and 10 officials.
The Public Relation Officer of the Sierra Leone Football Association Sorie Ibrahim Sesay said they welcome the idea and the first thing the FA did was to contact the Technical Director who in turn contacted the coach Christian Cole.
About 28 home based players and 17 Professional players have been invited for training for the match. Some of the professional players are Mohamed Pobosky Bangura, Ibrahim Koroma, Mustapha Haji Bangura, Obi Metzger Jr Ahmed Deen, Gibrilla Woobay and other players.
