The Sierra Leone Strongest Man Gym at the national stadium with the motto ‘Health & Fitness’ has on Monday 15th February 2021 been opened to the public for different sports training.
According to coach Sonny Johnson, the gym will help sporting associations who are willing to train their athletes for both local and international competitions.
He revealed that he has put a team in place that will be in charge of such trainings for the association, which will help strengthen the athletes.
Sonny said there will be separate arrangements with the associations, while training for the public would run twice daily from Monday to Saturday, with morning sessions on Saturdays.
He said registration forms, membership registration and monthly fee will together cost Le205,000, while those who want to train weekly will pay Le50,000.
According to Issa Kamara, who was part of the opening session, the gym is well equipped, adding that the turnout for the first day was great and encouraged more athletes to come on board to build themselves up for future competitions.
