The President of the Students Union of Freetown Teachers College, Christian Manson disclosed yesterday to members of the National Olympic Committee when they paid them a courtesy call at the NOC office. They said as students their main priority is sports.
The reason for the visit according to Christian Manson is to help the youths to focus more on sports and forget the negatives of life that are destroying them.
He appeals to NOC to assist the college with some sporting equipment as they want to develop the Sports Department in the college, which will be able to compete with other Colleges in the country.
The NOC President Henry Moore said that they in the NOC are limited to certain areas as their support comes from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and not from government.
He stated that the NOC can assist with sporting equipments if they are available as their role in the NOC is to help build sporting organizations with equipments as they want to develop sports in the country.
President Moore on behalf of the NOC executive donated Footballs, Handballs, Table Tennis, Basketballs and a host of other sporting equipments that they will collect in the office end of the week..
