The outspoken National Scribe of the ruling All Peoples’ Congress Party (APC), Victor Boackarie Foh, has sharply condemned the newly-formed south-eastern alliance which is another support group for the second term vision of President Earnest Bai Koroma.
He said the establishment of such regional and tribal structure is tantamount to ethnicity which, Mr. Foh stated, can further divide the cohesiveness of the very existence of the party as a national organization
This criticism follows a scathing attack heaped on the Resident Minister South, Moijue Kaikai by Hon.Legacy Sankoh over Radio Kiss 104 for what he described as ‘the Resident Ministers’ involvement and role’ played in the recent shot-out in Kono during the visit of Internal Affairs Minister, Musa Tarawally.
According to Lagacy Sankoh, Musa Tarawally and entourage went to Kono to organize a meeting bothering on the operations of the south-eastern alliance which ended in a fiasco as a result of infighting between the supporters of the Vice President Sam Sumana and those loyal to the Internal Affairs Minister.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Awoko News, the National Secretary General of the ruling APC condemned the verbal attack made on the Resident Minister saying “it is wrong for anyone to accuse the President for having appointed Moijue Kaikai as the Resident Minister as it is not only the prerogative of the President, but that the Minister in question is very hard working and up to the assignment, contrary to what he described as ‘the outburst of Hon Lagacy Sankoh’. He therefore spoke of the need for all to close their ranks as all are welcome to the fold of the APC regardless of tribe or religious affiliation.
Speaking further, Victor Boackarie Foh warned against the unilateral changing of the position of the running mate to the President as widely discussed, saying that the then sudden removal of the SLPP Vice President partly accounted for their political problems and therefore expressed the hope that the ruling APC will not make such a mistake as bad mistakes should not be copied but should be taken as a warning for future practices
Similar condemnations have been made by the rank and file of the Regional Wing of the APC particularly the Youth Wing who said that Moijue Kaikai is equal to the task and should be left alone to continue his good work
In his response, Moijue Kaikai fired back at Hon. Lagacy Sankoh describing him as a ‘political sycophant’ who has indeed lost focus and should not be minded at all.
