A strong supporter of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Munjaru M Jah has offered 30 scholarships to pupils of Constituency 98 ward 352 under the ‘Students Unite for Jah organisation’.
Jah stated that helping drop out youths in his constituency was a positive signal in the right direction towards the development of the country.
He added that paying tuition fees and giving other school items, will bring joy to the minds of many who have dropped out of school for years, adding that this will also prepare the beneficiaries for their future. The SLPP supporter reiterated that over three hundred pupils at the Congo Water and beyond are directly benefitting from his private school ‘Marie Holmes Comprehensive Academy’. My vision, he said is to see pupils acquire quality learning in a conducive atmosphere.
One of the beneficiaries Mariama Kargbo while expressing thanks to the supporter, explained that she dropped out of school for three years due to poor financial status of her parents. She said the scholarship was a blessing in disguise for her to achieve her educational dreams. Youth Leader of the Congo Water community, Abu Bakarr Bangura said the community has for long been yearning for such help, and have tried many times to have this kind gesture from other people, but it has proved futile. He stated that this gesture is the type they are looking for in the community to help pupils dropping out of school.
