The opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) candidate for Portee ward 355 contesting the local council elections Alpha Samai has disclosed what he intends doing if voted for.
Mr Samai who seems to be the youngest candidate explained that he had undertaken a felt need for the people of Portee and have identified areas as his target – if voted and should he win the elections. He stressed that as a son of Portee, he knew the constraints the people of Portee were going through.
He spoke of community mobilization as very significant which he will use to improve the community. Despite that he said, he will ensure that the community benefits from Schools, health center, water, sanitation, drainage system and self employment. Mr Samai further disclosed that he already had in mind the fishing community which he said he shall lobby Non-governmental organizations to teach the fishing community about safety and to also assist in fishing implements.
“When I was going to school I used to mobilize my colleagues for community development work like cleaning and also I used to bring them together for social activities which at times brought laurels to the community” he stated
The SLPP candidate called on the people of Portee to vote for people who will serve them not those that will abandon them only to come back when they needed their votes.
