The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) yesterday paid its last respect to one of its members, the late Prince Forde.
At the jam-packed SLPP’s Unity hall, sympathizers and party supporters paid tributes to and sang songs of praises for the deceased.
Solemnity engulfed the hall when tributes started pouring in, as sympathizers filed past the gold coloured casket in which laid the deceased.
SLPP’s secretary general, Jacob Jusu Saffa in his tribute, described the late Prince Forde as a courageous man and a socialite.
He referred to his death as sudden. “The SLPP has lost a great man and a great pillar who loved the party. Prince was not a sycophant and he spent most of what he had on the party,” he said.
Mr Saffa also said the deceased was influential in Bo city, and that he had returned from a meeting with some PMDC supporters luring them back to the SLPP when he met his sudden death.
The deceased ran a popular night club in Bo named “Uptown Disco” which later became “Aries Night club”.
In the educational sector, he established a computer school which has trained many youth in that city.
As district chairman he was one of those behind the Support for the Mobilization of Berewa (SUMOB) campaign.
“Prince was very much helpful, the party shall never forget him,” the SLPP secretary general said.
