Sheikh Sillah, the All Peoples Congress Regional Chairman South has told Awoko that politicians in the Sierra Leone Peoples Party South are “preaching the Rwanda-type tribalism here, and which is not good.”
The Bo based regional chair explained that “these so-called intellectuals or useless people are instigating the people against the others, and preaching false information over the media.” He went on to say that politicians within the SLPP South “are poisoning the minds of the people.” These politicians he went on, say that they should not “mind the central government in Freetown” something which he said was out of place as there is an instituted government in Freetown. Diverting to the declaration of results by the National Electoral Commission, which saw the winner of the Mayorship of Bo going to SLPP’s Dr Wusu Sannoh and the subsequent victory celebrations by the party fans he opined: “They are celebrating disaster.”
He complained that SLPP fans “used abusive language beyond me, to my parents.” He however accepted the authenticity of the results but reserved: “According to my observations, the behavior of fans the SLPP in the south is this: they do not recognize the APC.”
