The Sierra Leone Peoples Party parliamentary candidate for the Pujehun District bye –election Ansu Kaikai has won the parliamentary seat for constituency 78 in the Pujehun District as APC and PMDC suffered heavy defeat in the hands of the opposition SLPP.
According to our Southern Region Correspondent who covered the entire election process in Pujehun said amidst lower voter turn out as a result of early morning heavy down pour of rain APC took second and PMDC third position.
In his response to the victory of the SLPP, the APC National Secretary General Victor Bockarie Foh told our reporter that the APC remain grateful to the gains made in the Pujehun bye-election noting that the entire election process was free fair and transparent as the voters have spoken and it is the will of the people and the APC is ready to accept the result.
Similar statements were made by the PMDC Member of Parliament Hon Sheka Samai who spoke about the importance of democracy and that it has given the opportunity to the people to elect people of their choice to represent them in parliament.
