The Sierra Leone National Cycling Association (SLNCA) will be organizing a zonal cycling competition in March to pave the way for new cyclists into the association.
The competition aims at bringing more young talented cyclists on board, as for the past years most of the competitions saw the same cyclists taking part.
“That is why the executive has decided to organize this zonal competition,” one executive member said, adding that, “about 12 zones have been spotted for the competition.”
After the competition cyclists will be divided into classes, as the association intends taking the discipline to schools.
The association is appealing to commercial houses and the government to come on board to sponsor these competitions, as cycling has been bringing laurels to the nation.
