The Sierra Leone National Cycling Association (SLNCA) will start its Olympics selection trials on Friday starting from the National Stadium to Makeni.
On Saturday cyclists will depart Makeni for Magburaka and back to Makeni on the same day. The cyclists will finally return to the National Stadium on Easter Sunday.
The president of the association, Winston Crowther, told Awoko Sports that about 20 cyclists would take part in the trials in which the cyclists will be selected to represent Sierra Leone in the Olympic Games in China in August this year.
He mentioned that most of the elite cyclists in the country would be in attendance, adding that cyclists would be selected based on their time and merit. President Crowther mentioned that during the competition the cyclists would be using the following routes to Makeni from the National Stadium: Syke Street, Hannah Benka-Coker Street, Old Railway Line, Saint John, Campbell Street, Pademba Road, Cotton Tree, Siaka Steven Street, Abacha Street, Kissy Road through the Freetown –Waterloo Road to Makeni.
He stated that on the return the cyclists would use the following routes from Makeni: Freetown Waterloo Road, Kissy Street, Eastern Police, Goderich Street, Bank of Sierra Leone, Krootown Road, Syke Street, to the National Stadium.
