The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) extra-ordinary congress scheduled to take place early in the year is now expected to take place on June 19-20 this year in Kenema.
The Secretary General of the Association, Alimu Bah has in anticipation stated that the Extra – Ordinary congress shall be a peace congress where they can bring everybody on board for the development of football in the country.
He mentioned that after the elective congress last year, two camps emerged supporting the two different candidates who were: Dr Foday Bangura and Nahim Kadi but now that the election was over, they wanted the two camps to come together as he considered some people in the losing camp as having a vital role to play in the development of football in the country.
Alimu Bah also disclosed that this particular congress was going to be like a family where every stakeholder was going to give out their grievances and find ways in which the game of football could be developed in the country.
The SLFA Secretary General also mentioned that without peace in the game of football, the game will never grow and said this time around, they wanted to see the game of football grow by leaps and bounds that would once more encourage fans to go back to the National Stadium in full force to support their various teams.
He also went further to state that delegates in the Western Area that will be going to Kenema must report at the National Stadium around 10 am tomorrow as the bus will leave the National Stadium at 10am prompt. Other delegates from the Central and Eastern part shall depart from Up Gun at the same time. He went further that the delegates from the provinces must pay their way to Kenema and the SLFA executive will reimburse the delegates upon their arrival.
