The Sierra Leone National Female Football Veterans on Thursday 1st October 2020 have pledged their united support to SLFA Boss Isha Johansen in running the country’s football affairs. The female heroes, led by former national female team captain Musu Pele Bangura, made this commitment at the Home Suites Hotel, Aberdeen in Freetown during a meeting with the country’s FA President who doubles as the Chair of CAF Female Football Committee.
Speaking on behalf of her colleagues, the President of the National Female Veteran Players Association, Musu “Pelé” Bangura said, “We have assessed your vision and we are impressed with your passion and courage in changing the narratives. Despite your numerous challenges you remained a game changer.” She furthered, “We are here today to pledge our unflinching support to you and in this your praiseworthy quest to raise the game of football in Sierra Leone.”
In her response to the pledge, the SLFA Boss thanked the veterans for believing in her, adding, “I am humbled by your endorsement and in return I pledge my unflinching support to our shared vision, which is to ‘RAISE OUR GAME’.”
The FA Boss ended her statement saying, “When a woman succeeds, we all win and when women succeed, a whole nation benefits.”
