The Normalization Committee of Sierra Leone Football Association on Wednesday January 23rd 2013 distributed FIFA badges to three central referees and four assistants at the SLFA headquarters at Kingtom.
The referees are Raymond Coker, Abdul Karim Kabia and Gibson Gaima, the assistant referees are Brenard Sorbeh, Bill Konneh, Daniel Kargbo and Sheriff Newland.
After giving the badges to the referees, the Normalization Committee also presented CAF (B) Licenses certificates to coaches who passed the exams.
Among them, four coaches include two female and two male coaches will be going for an instructor course later in Cairo. The female coaches are Hannah Williams, the National female football coach and Adama Kuyateh, assistant coach FC Johansen.
The male coaches are Mohamed Kallon, Chairman FC Kallon and John Keister, head coach FC Johansen.
The technical Director of the Football Association, Obi Metzger, said only coaches with the’ B’ Licences will be allowed to coach teams and travel with them.
The Chairman of the Normalization Committee, Alie Fornah assured the referees and the coaches, that it is their responsibility to guide and support them, so that they will be able to do their job well, by providing equipment employment, and conducting advance courses.
He also warned the referees that they need to work like professionals and not to compromise as having the badges alone, cannot make you a good professional but your output.
The coaches’ representative John Sesay who spoke on behalf of the coaches reminded the football association on the promises they made, that they are going to employ coaches but that have not done that yet and appealled to the football association to stand by their promise for the good of the game.
