Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has taken a significant step towards organizing the inaugural 2023/24 National Youth Leagues. This includes Division 1 and 2 male leagues and the first-ever Division 1 female league, all set to kick off next month.
On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, the SLFA engaged secretaries and competition officers from Districts and Regional Football Associations in a roundtable discussion to set the stage for these youth leagues. According to Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, the registration of participating clubs and other pre-tournament arrangements are scheduled to occur between November 15th and 30th, 2023. This ensures the competitions will commence in the first week of December this year.

The discussions, presided over by key SLFA figures, focused on developing a clear roadmap and playing format for the upcoming competitions.
The youth leagues will feature U-12 and U-14 categories for boys, along with U-15 and U-17 categories for girls, promising an exciting platform for young talents to shine in Sierra Leone’s football scene. BT/3/11/2023
