The technical department of the Sierra Leone Football Association has announced a 51-man, home-based squad to start preparing for upcoming qualifiers. John Jeboh Sherrington, head of the Technical Department, will tentatively handle the National Team training until they confirm a new head coach for the National team. The selection of players was from different teams in the country. The Old Edwardians have three players invited. They are: highest goal scorer Suffian Kalokoh; mid-field maestro, Edmond Michael; and Sembu Fornah. The invitation list includes 48 others selected to start preparation on Tuesday 6th August 2019.

Sierra Leone will travel to the Liberian capital Monrovia, to open their 2022 World Cup preliminary qualifiers during the first week in September with the return fixture billed for Freetown a week after. They will also open their African Cup of Nation campaign at home against the Crocodiles of Lesotho November 11 in Freetown.
