Kofi Yakor a former member of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) who resigned his position has stated at the French Pedagogical Centre in Bo that the present leadership of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has “run out of ideas, and they have failed woefully they cannot do anything again.”
He said when they appointed him he told the executive members in Bo Rangers that he is going to see the problems at SLFA. “If I cannot make any impact I am going to resign which I finally did some months in office. I should have resigned since three months when I took the appointment but some of the executive members told me to have some patience as the time is too quick to resign.”
He stated that other members prevailed on him saying “You have to give the president Nahim Kadi sometime to settle down.”
However experience he said has taught him a lesson “before taking decisions you need to ‘size’ all the people that will be standing for such position.”
Kofi said that he was happy he had resigned long ago otherwise “by now he will be in shame bending down his head when walking or talking because of the failure and they have made many noise about this individual but he cannot deliver the goods.”
He went further that Nahim Kadi has a passion for the game but to become president of an association like SLFA is too big for Nahim. “Passion for the game is not enough he needs to have other qualities.”
He pointed out that you have to be afraid of a leader who makes too much promises without fulfilling any of his promises – this is Nahim Kadi’s kind of leadership he said.
He disclosed that during the last election that was won by Nahim Kadi “many stakeholders took oath after receiving money to vote for Nahim Kadi which I was not part of I only voted for him thinking he was a good leader.”
He mentioned that during his stay in the executive many things were going wrong and all that led to his resignation from the executive.
He cited an example wherein calendar of events were not discussed during meetings and after the meetings he would request for such calendar of events to see how he can assist those in the provinces after several promises that he is going to have a copy of that calendar of events – which has never materialized up till now.”
