The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), after a meeting at SLFA’s football academy on Friday, appointed coach Christian Cole as head of the U-17 to be assisted by “K-foot” of Nepean Stars.
Also appointed was coach Sherington to head the U-20 with Abu Sankoh of Kallon FC as his assistant.
Sports pundits and SLFA insiders say the reason why the executive decided to bring in coaches Cole and Sherington is because of their wealth of experience on national football.
“For the national team to have success, we need to start from the U-17. That is why they need to have a mature coach like Christian Cole who will be able to bring in talented players to the national team,” one of the insiders noted.
Speaking to Awoko Sports, Christian Cole said he had a task to qualify his boys for any competition but that he needed the necessary support from companies and the government to achieve his aims and objectives.
