The Administrative Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Abubakarr Kabba departed the shores of Freetown yesterday for South Africa to attend a refresher course for sports administrator instructors slated for January 21st -26th of this year.
He said he was invited by the CAF and this is not the first time he has represented Sierra Leone in such course. In 2005 he alongside the regional chairman Northern Province attended the course.
He went further that because of his performance in the course in 2005 that is why he has been invited to attend this one which started today. During the course he will also present a paper on event management which is a way to organize friendly matches.
He said in the last course in 2005 among the 17 delegates only four of them got grade A alongside 2 Gambians and a Ghanaian which qualified him for this particular higher refresher course.
He also mentioned that after this course those who perform well will be part of the CAF panel of instructors for administrators. He said with this development in his life he feels delighted as every body is looking up to such development.
He also disclosed that he has a lot of experience in administration disclosing that he started as a Secretary General of Real Republican Football Club in 1993 and up till this current time he is still in football.
In 2000 the Secretary General of SLFA Alimu Bah and then President of the association Tolla Thompson invited him to act as Administrative assistant for a year before being promoted to Administrative Secretary of the association.
He also mentioned that he has also served as CAF match Commissioner, Executive member of Zone two, and now he said he has ambition to be CAF instructor
Abubakarr said that he wants to teach others who are not able to attend the course so that the game of football will be developed in the country.
