The Sierra Leone Fellowship of Evangelical Students at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (SLEFES-IPAM) over the weekend had their enrollment of new members and also inducted a new executive to run the affairs of the organisation for the 2008/2009 academic year at the college campus.
The ceremony was chaired by an Accounting student of IPAM who also doubled as former president of SLEFES-IPAM in 2005 Fayia A.W Tamba.
In his opening remarks, he commended the entire membership of SLEFES-IPAM and other academic institutions for reaching students for Christ.
Bro. Tamba intimated that SLEFES-IPAM is an organisation that is focused on Christian principles and evangelism to students who are from different backgrounds to inculcate the practices of Christ, and also evangelize to other students about the word of God.
He called on the SLEFES-IPAM executives to take the organisation to higher heights for the rapid spreading of Christianity to believers and help each other as Christian brothers and sisters during their academic struggle.
The outgoing president of SLEFES-IPAM Sis. Donneth I.A Lewis in her presidential report highlighted the organizations achievement and challenges during the 2007/2008 academic year, and encouraged her colleagues to support the organisation so as to achieve their objectives. New members were enrolled in to SLEFES-IPAM during the year.
The Western Area Training Secretary who served as a guest in the program Mathew Brima said that SLEFES-IPAM has immensely contributed to the preparation of Christianity in various institutions of higher learning.
Mr. Brima called on the entire membership of SLEFES-IPAM to work in the interest of the organisation and also promote good Christian values despite their academic struggle at IPAM but encouraged them to take their academic work seriously and also work in the interest of colleagues. The incoming executive comprises of the following SLEFES-IPAM members Aisie A. Campbell – President, Anthony Rogers- V/P Men’s wing, Amanita Deen Kamara V/P Ladies, Ayodele Adams-Secretary, Elizabeth Ernest –Treasurer, Andrew Conteh – Prayer Secretary, John A Kargbo-Evangelism Coordinator, Thomas Fillie- Bible Study Coordinator, Hannah K. Sesay-Organizing Secretary, Nathan Edwards- Music Drama Coordinator and Donets IA Lewis as Ex –officio
The incoming president of SLEEFS-IPAM, Sis. Aisie A. Campbell expressed thanks and appreciation to colleagues for unanimously endorsing her presidency and promised to work hand in hand with SLEFES-IPAM to achieve the desired goals of the organisation. She added that modalities will soon be worked out to reach out to members on campus and the general public by June 16, 2008 to increase the membership drive and also preach the word of God to them. Other ex-presidents that were present at the occasion are Bro. Andrew Blessing Bangura and Bro. Charlie Williams both in their final Hons. class, Financial Services Department.
