The Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA)’s competition in preparation for their two international competitions is still in progress at the Kingtom cricket oval in Freetown.
In the match played over the weekend, Sierra Leone combined team defeated Asian team by 89 runs. The match was exciting as both teams displaced their talents by exhibiting lots of superb bowling.
When the Sierra Leone combined team took the crease they made 202 runs for 5 wickets in 25 overs.
The former captain for the national side, Ibrahim Sesay, made the highest score of 42 Lansana Lamin made 41 runs, Jacob Mansaray made 31 runs and Balowa Mansaray made 28 runs.
When the Asian side took the crease they replied with 123 for 9 wickets in 25 overs Binu made 28 runs, Rajesh made a run of 15 while Suhrid made 11 runs.
Ibrahim Sesay has the highest wickets of three to be followed by A J Kamara with two wickets.
The public relations officer, Bockarie Alieu, disclosed that since they started various competitions the cricketers were now focused, but advised cricketers to take every match very serious if you wanted to be selected.
He noted that those who were responsible for the selection would select by past performances.
