The Chief Executive Officer of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA), Francis Samura, has said the International Cricket Council (ICC) made adjustments to the fixtures at a recently held meeting.
He said they were asked as participants to give updates on the COVID-19 status of their respective countries, including travelling in and out of the country, which they did.
Having consulted with the ICC in Dubai, the ICC Africa regional office decided to reschedule the ICC events.
CEO Samura said the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier Africa Division 2 originally slated for June 2021 will now be held in August 2021 in Stellenbosch, South Africa, while the Division 1 qualifier will be held in Nigeria in September.
The ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, originally slated for October, will now be held in September 2021 in Botswana.
The ICC T20 Men’s Africa Sub-regional Qualifiers originally slated for April 2021 will now be held during the start of November 2021.
The ICC Men’s Africa final will be held in mid-December 2021
Dates and venues for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Women’s Cricket T20 qualifier will be announced later.
