The Secretary-General of the Sierra Leone Association of Martial-Arts (SLAMA) Baiosman Dumbuya has made a complaint against Victor Smith, the Desk Officer of the association.
In a letter written on the 8th October, addressed to the Director of Sports, captioned “Complain against the Desk Officer” the Sec-General pointed out that the Desk Officer is responsible for the problems besetting the association.
The letter mentioned that Victor Smith had ignored the National Legislation by conducting a sub-standard and fake election for various martial arts disciplines without the availability of a written constitution.
According to the letter, the Desk Officer failed to adhere to the instructions of the Assistant Director of Sports, Hasting-Spaine, who was officially appointed to conduct the election; but who later walked out as there was no constitution provided to legitimize the election.
The Letter further alleged that Victor Smith is interfering in the affairs of the association by going to radio stations to argue with Martial-Arts stakeholders. He is claiming to be the Secretary-General of the Sierra Leone Karate Association from the fake elections he conducted.
The letter also noted that SLAMA is strongly criticizing and condemning the elections conducted by the Desk Officer; and would be grateful if the Ministry probe into his activities.
