On Friday, at about 0030 hours, a house located at No 6 Dan Lane off Kissy Road in Freetown was burnt down and claimed the lives of six of its occupants. They were Isatu Jabbie, Yeima Jabbie and four children.
Though firefighters did put out the inferno, it was not as prompt as saving the lives of the six people.
When a team of police personnel, led by sergeant 1264 Borboh from the Kissy Police Station, visited the scene and spoke with the landlord, Joseph Mustapha, it was revealed that the fire started in the room of one Joseph Jabbie who is the landlord’s relative.
