Eric Spencer Cole was yesterday brought before Magistrate J. O. Wellington of Court No. 2 by his sister, Rhoda Onikeh Spencer- Cole, charged with threatening language contrary to section 3(1) of 1965.
The complainant, sister of the accused who resides at No 182 South Ridge Hill Station, Freetown, told the court that on Monday 22nd August 2011 in the Western Area the accused used threatening language against her.
She further stated that in the early hours on that day, she heard a knock on her door and she asked who that was knocking, but there was nobody and as usual, she looked through the window and saw the accused person standing outside with a knife and a rubber containing acid in his hands.
The accused used all sorts of unpleasant words and held a knife in his hand threatening to use it to stab her if she comes out of the house.
The sister further testified that the accused was also holding a rubber in his hand containing acid which, he said, he was going to pour on her so that her body will not be put in a casket.
Lawyer Cole for the accused pleaded with the Magistrate for a bail but Magistrate Wellington refused him bail
The matter was adjourned to the 9th of September 2011.
