Sierra Leone: As part of Sierra Leone’s 60th Anniversary the Single Leg Amputee Sports Club of Sierra Leone has decided to play a peace football match with their Liberian counterpart.
According to the Public Relation Officer of Single Amputee Sport Club Albert Manley Mustapha, they were expected to play the Kenya Amputee National team but they were unable to honour the invitation because of the red alert in Kenya for the COVID-19 it was on this grounds that they decided to bring Liberia on board.
He revealed that the friendly was to be able to go on because of President Bio who came to make sure that the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Authority approve their budget.
That is why the match was free because of the support of President Bio. During the match both teams put up a super performance until the end of the match which ended goalless after both teams missed possible chances
According to Scribe of the Paralympic Committee who witnessed the match said the match was exciting and appealed to both governments to have such friendlies in the sub region for disabled players.
The Liberia delegation is expected to departs today for Liberia.
