The Sierra Leone Wrestling Association (SLWA) has given relief support to national wrestlers and coaches to ease the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on them due to its halting of sporting activities over the past five months. The support includes a bag of rice and a reasonable sum of money to each beneficiary.
Amid the ban on all sporting activities in the country, these athletes have been doing individual trainings and workouts prescribed by coaches to stay fit in time for the lifting of government restrictions. Among the beneficiary athletes is Olympic Solidarity Scholarship holder Foday Kargbo who is on intense personal training and workout in preparation for Olympic qualifiers.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, coach Abdul Rahman Sesay thanked and appreciated the SLWA executive for the support he said serves as a boost to them during these trying times. BT/14/08/2020
