
The semi-finals of the Western Area Handball Championship Cup at the Siaka Steven Stadium handball court will see two thrilling encounters on Thursday evening between teams that qualified after finishing first and second in group A and B respectively.
Lion Mountain takes to the court to play Royal House before RSLAF and Sengeh Pieh meet in the second semi-final match described by handball fanatics as a clash of the titans.
RSLAF Coach, Felixson, said his side is known as one of the top teams in handball and they’ve been preparing to reach the final, which they hope to win.
“We will defeat Sengbeh Pieh hands down. We have lots of players with experience in our squad. Our defence is very strong and offensively, we will destroy them, “Coach Felixson said.
On his part, Sengbeh Pieh Coach, Chuku Adams asserted that his boys are more than determine to engage the combatants. He said his players will show up brilliantly to frustrate RSLAF players.
“Certainly, we are better prepared for RSLAF’s tactics. If they defend, we will go on the offense and if they decided to go on the offence we will defeat them with a very big margin because their defence will be wide open, “the Sengbeh Pieh Coach, Chuku Adams said.
For Lion Mountain, Coach Jenneh Mustapha believes winning against Royal House is the only option to progress to the final. As the only female coach in the semis, she assured are fans of putting everything in place to win the tie convincingly.
Jenneh Stated: “It is hard for me to explain how much we want to make the final. It’s what we are here for so we must ensure to achieve our aim of reaching the final. To be in the final, will be an astonishing feeling.”
Royal House Head Coach Maolia said Lion Mountain may have more experience players than his side, but his players will stand tough against them.
“This is what we’ve been training for over six months. Why should we let it go? We will play hard to get to the final. We want to win and we will defeat Lion Mountain, “he avowed.
