Sierra Leone Sports: We need VAR in Sierra Leone football – Coach John Sesay
The head coach of Ports Authority, John Sesay, said, “We need VAR at Sierra Leone Football Association.” His team was forced to one all draw (1-1) by East End Lions in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League play on Wednesday 12 June 2019. When asked about the performance of the referees, Sesay said he wants to have video replays to further analyze goals, penalties and close calls to stop some of these things. He said if there is VAR most of the human error will not happen.
He said he was pleased with the manner in which his boys played and they are looking forward to the next match on Sunday against FC Kallon. In the other matches played during the week Central Parade defeated Anti Drugs by two goals to zero (2-0) while Freetown City FC and Kamboi Eagles played to two all draw (2-2). According to Unisa Kamara, who has been following the league, if measures are not taken, poor officiating will affect the League.
