The water polo expert from South Africa, Bradly Rowe, said it would be nice if Sierra Leone embraced water polo. He made this statement during the open of the Water Polo Clinic. He went further to appeal to the Association to do everything in their power to make sure that the put water polo on the map as the sports is becoming popular.
He also went further to thank FINA the international body for giving him the opportunity to come to Sierra Leone to teach and learn people about water polo sports in the country.
Unisa Deen Kargbo, who represented the National Olympic Committee (NOC), said they are happy for such a training. That is why they are working with the National Sports Council for the development sports in the country.
He revealed that athletics and swimming are the two major sporting disciplines that is why any country that does not have qualify athletes they usually select one male and female athletes to represent the country in such competition.
The President of the Association said they are having increased support from FINA over the past years.
He said the water polo clinic is important for the association and appealed to those who are taking part in the clinic to take it very seriously as it is a team sports and the sports is fast gaining momentum in the world.
The deputy Minister of Sports who opened the Clinic said it was timely as a government they will always support such kind of development in the country and they are looking forward to the result after the clinic.
