Percy Nicholson one of the Presidential Candidate for this year’s Cycling election slated for next month has said that he has decided to contest for the Presidency because this time around they need a positive change.
He made this statement on Sunday 19th June 2016 when launching is campaign at the Aberdeen beach in Freetown which was well attended.
Percy said that he is going to the race because he has the blessing of over 60 percent of the delegates who said they need change as the association has been running over the years as a Social Club with one man controlling the affairs of the association.
That is why the delegates have appealed to him to come on board to make sure that those who can take care of the administration stop the one man from deciding the fate of the association.
Percy went further that “you have given me your blessing I will not let you down so I am looking forward to all of you that have confidence in me to come out to vote me as your new president come the 17th July 2016.”
He said after assuming office as the new president my first task is to make sure that the cycling club will become a reality and next thing is to have transparency and accountability, which have been lacking in the association.
Since I have been in the association for the past years now no financial report has been given to the membership this time around that will not happen, and any body found wanting will face the law.
This is an association, not a one man show, the membership is tired with such leadership which is going to end on the 17th July by God Grace.
He said that the other step is to bring all those on board that have been driven out by the current President Winston DC Crowther for his own personal interest, which is not good for the sport.
Percy also revealed that with the help of other members the Veteran club have been formed as these people have a role to play in the association.
