
The Senior Cricket Development Coordinator, Cyril Panda, said the ongoing cricket U-19 league at the Prince of Wales cricket oval is to identify players to represent the country in the upcoming international competitions.
He said that at the end of the league they are going to select 26 players out of the 48 players who will undergo intensive training. Some of these players will replace the older ones.
Panda also stated that the 26 players will be selected by the technical department and that will be done on merit.
Abubakarr Kargbo, a member of the Executive said, “They are happy because it will give the technical team and the executive a chance to identify younger players.”
He also revealed that the J. Dworzak is leading the league after winning all three matches. They are followed by Stalin Fraser with two wins and one loss.
While Dr. Sahr Kpundeh and Von Herbert have played 4 matches. Both teams have lost 3 and won one. The league has 5 matches remaining.
